With a full day of Irish music, dancers, food, merchandise, and more, the 11th annual Adams County Irish Festival offers wholesome family fun while benefiting charitable efforts for community groups in Ireland, via the Conway Mill Trust of Pittsburgh, as well as the Irish Heritage Foundation of Gettysburg’s long-term goal of establishing a national Irish history museum and library in Adams County. The festival is held rain or shine in the shady grove of the Gettysburg Moose Park, located conveniently off US Rt. 30, approximately 1.5 miles east of the US Rt. 15 intersection. Admission remains at $10/pp for adults while children under 12 are admitted free.

Adams County’s only Irish Festival staged a memorable 10th Anniversary last year, with a glorious day and a fantastic array of local, regional and internationally-known Irish bands, Irish step dancers, bagpipers, Irish music workshops, Irish food, Irish wolfhounds, and art and gift vendors.

Click here to view a pdf of the Community CovenantThis year will feature a special event during the opening ceremonies. The festival has partnered with the local AOH division to support our military and their families. Bill Irwin from the U.S. Army along with the 82nd Airborne Colorguard will be on-hand for the signing of the Armed Forces Community Covenant. Festival visitors can visit the Army's info booth and add their name to the covenant as well. Click the Army logo to read the text of the Covenant.

We are anticipating a wonderful start for our second decade, with world-class music that spans the Irish traditional genre from acoustic tunes to rocking pub songs. We are thrilled to bring the Makem & Spain BrothersMakem & Spain Brothers to Adams County for the first time, as our headliner.

Also joining us this year are perennial favorites, Barleyjuice and Irishtown Road, who will help us welcome for the first time to our festival Baltimore-based Rigadoo, Raining Hearts, from the Philadelphia area, and Kilshanny, from right here in Adams County.

Of course, we offer workshops for bodhran, tinwhistle, fiddle, and uilleann pipes, and for children of all ages, the Tom Jolin Musicale and Kate Danaher’s “Irish Tunes & Tales for Kids” and “Leaving the Old Sod: Music & Tales of Emigration” will enrich the day’s activities.

Please see the Entertainment page for the festival schedule and links to entertainers’ biographies and websites. We also have many vendors selling gifts directly from Ireland, as well as others selling food and drink… and yes, we have Guinness.

South-central Pennsylvania is traditionally known for being an area of the State populated by German immigrants but what is less known (and celebrated) is its Irish heritage. Join us in historic Gettysburg for a day of music, dance, food, workshops, living history and crafts in celebrating the area's Irish heritage.

The Adams County Irish Festival is produced and presented by the Irish Heritage Foundation of Gettysburg, an all-volunteer 501(c)(3) non-profit organization.
